Listening to every heart

Rare enough, rarer indeed to
Match stone to heredity, but how to hold?
So he crafted silver thread’s sinew
For gem so rare, for wife so bold

Gemini ‘twas her fate to be
A changeling extraordinaire,
Naught but alexandrite stone, the
Candle colored red from day’s blue-green fare

She wore it plain upon her breast
It chameleon’d thus with simplicity,
Sun shone ocean’s blue-green’s crest
Candle’s light reddened with felicity

Thus fair maid wore an emerald by day
By night, vixen saw ruby’s passionate play.

Oh My...... this is wonderous.
I's perfect! Well Done.

I have an alexandrite ring (purchased it when I was in LA) it's my birthstone and it does exactly that ...changes from green to blue to red. It's beautiful just like your poem Karilea.

Keeping this.

Was this scintillating poem a self-portrait?

Appreciative hugs,
EA
P.S. I keep forgetting to mention how much I love this photo of you! I can see the looks of the innocent and the siren in those coquettish eyes of yours!

Karilea, though I still haven't figured out
what a vignette, this is beautiful.....
I especially like this ending.

Oh my goodness - do I love this one!  This could be about me did you know that?  I am the changling that is for sure, and alexandrite is my birthstone as is a pearl.  I printed it - on the wall it goes.

Ethel....A Vignette according to the Oxford Dictionary....
"A short description, a character sketch; like a photograph"

and as Karilea explained to me "they're snippets of thought" "We must be able to see it"

one day when my muse quits playing hide-and-go-seek I shall write one too!

hugs
Maree
