in a week we will know
a lot more
about the texture of
our relationship
after Ive gone sailing
through the hazel wilderness
after you’ve searched
the baggage you keep
in your heart
my words are hardly ever delicate
but I know
you can read my mind
like an audience can read
cues from a telestrator
even when I mean to do well
it usually ends up
at the bottom of a glass
but at least I know
that you love me for the effort
its not every woman
that you can say that about
