I want a softer shade of sorrow
when the summer storm comes
to wash my sins away
sweet drops of confession
in puddles - I pray

whispering of wanting
finding strength somewhere within
raging, calling to the sky
not another night.....
I have no more tears to cry

under thick moody, brooding cloud
flashes of light and rumble-speak
scream in heavy, angry air...
an intensity to match my own
in reverent rain dance prayer

hands cover upturned face
then fall slowly to aching heart
please.....make these thoughts of him stop....
tears mingle with the rain
.....I pray upon every drop....

Susan...I can't even begin to tell you how deeply
this one touches right now...this hurts.

And this...

"please.....make these thoughts of him stop...."

Amen.

Hugs,
~Vicky

Hey you!  Girl that was an extremely heartwrenching, well written poem and not at all our usual romantic Sea.  Susan, that was fantastic writing, I sure enjoyed this keeper.

SEA - if this is your feelings I feel your pain, if not, I still feel it in the words. It's that good...

Wonderful picture and poem. Also, I love the title and think it would make a great "hook" for a song! (Do you write music too)?

"not another night.....
I have no more tears to cry"

Maybe the sky is crying for you... So that you don't have to bear the sorrow anymore.

Good write.

ahhh the rhyme..the alliterations..the ache... and the rain that you love so...
both the ache and the storms are always the perfect muse for your pen.
very cool brooding write Sue-girlie.

Im still imagining your voice ...
can see the sparkle in your eyes.
I cant explain your power over me
Its understated understood & beautiful.

Ohhhhh. I know this.  I have attacks of this when I am alone.  You did a wonderful job of expressing the anger mixed with pain.  And the graphic you used perfectly described the emotion.

Thanks for sharing,

Patricia

(big hugggssssssss) Sometimes the heart of the storm is to best place to comfort sorrow, for there when we hear the thunder claps of Him, we know we are not alone and I'd take that over a mere cloudy day! (sad sigh) I send many angel hugs your way, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Susan, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Wonderfully written and expressed, I think we all have felt feelings similar to what you expressed here.

Wow.

Sometimes I have to go out and stand in the rain and be washed in the blood of the storm; for some feelings it is the only way.

I hope the evening rests gently on your shoulders.
