In Truth Mine Own Words Ring Perhaps it not long ago, I hung and clung to his word, Listened for one intelligible, audible syllable to heard. Certain if I listened long, I would hear a word I need, So, I hung and clung tightly until my broken heart bleed. He saw a gushing hemorrhage, tasted blood of my heart, But only watched in silent apathy as our union split apart. Still I hung and clung for a single utterance to be heard. Deaf to me, he refrained from one hopeful, thoughtful word. Then came upon me a word of encouragement mine own, A gentle, shining word of light inside me that has shone That it is in my own name that words of truth be known, It is with mine own words, I set my tempo and my tone. It is with enlightenment, I now choose to hang and cling To the rightful words my healing heart does proudly sing. Never seek outside me that which my own heart bring, Gratified by honesty that in truth mine own words ring. [This message has been edited by Patricia (05-31-2003 01:25 AM).] |

Then came upon me a word of encouragement mine own, "A gentle, shining word of light inside me that has shone That it is in my own name that words of truth be known, It is with mine own words, I set my tempo and my tone." That's what I am learning to do. Some days I fall behind though ![]() M |

Nicely expressed, a sad tone to it, I hope things are better now. Julie "Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened. " |

Patricia, this is beautiful, though sad in a way. But, in another way, it's not sad because you are beginning to truly love yourself when you can trust in your own feelings that come from inside of you. I have learned that a person can't love someone else in the way they should be loved, until they truly love themselves first. This way they know that they are worthy of someone elses love. Thank you, Lady, for sharing your heart with us. ![]() Hugs to you, ![]() Ethel |

When one chooses their own words with thought and carefully a rite of passage is left behind for every eye to see. May you always find strength, and truth in your poetry. ![]() |

Smiling...because we all have learned the encouraging words inside...sometimes we can't believe they came from our own. YOU CAN! Nice write. TD |

Yes Patricia, it is really tough when your own words fall on the deaf ears of a spouse. Now, more then ever, is the time to be listening to your own heart’s wants, and your own heart’s needs. I’m sure that it will guide you down the right path. Just know, that we all are listening, to you. Take Care, Richy |
