Tender kisses
Stolen moments
Heartfelt embraces
Thursday morn memories

Cheating hearts
Brought together
By passion denied
From gold bands

Unrepented lovers
In secret rendezvous
With tender touches
Bring memories
On Thursday morn

Partners absorbed
By reruns galore
By conversations
Repeated many times over

The words are familiar
I heard them before
A quarter century old
A rut deep in familiarity

Rules observed
Never to change
Written in sleeping abodes
Leading to Thursday morn memories

A tender poem
An understanding friend
A lover no longer denied
Bring happiness and a smile
On Thursday morn
