To Those who are still with us... Aunt Sue, Aunt Missy, Aunt Kitty, Aunt Johnita, Uncle Garey, Uncle Cook, and Uncle Hoodie. To The "Wallace" Family Don't Hold Me To Good-Bye I linger right where heart is and trying not to let go Destined to remain in not looking ahead One memory at a time I view behind these eyes As I lie here in denial on heartache's bed... I'm sure there will be the day I recognize the wind In it's slightly different blow across me Years hasn't yet graced my skin in it's timely way But, you are aging faster then I can grieve... You may hear me whisper to the forgiving moon And, fair well may roll from these lips You might watch me soulfully cry to the skies But, don't hold me to good-bye in this... For, I will walk an endless mile to your face Climb a stubborn mountain in it's height of power Cling to any wings that can soar me to remembrance But, never lower my head low in sundown's hour... Don't hold me to good-bye because I can't do it Never expect me to die like the seasons do Can't ask me to whither under extreme warmth here When a little good-bye falls over me and you... I still feel mighty pull with your hand in mine And, each of you I treasure one moment at a time Understand if I have the vision to know we'll be at it's end Just don't hold me to good-bye if I don't see you again...
