Her picture greeted me in the same warmth
Whether voiced or penned, she embraced me
Now, standing in the love light of so many comrades in arms
She was never more glorious

And I thought of the blessing I have received
So brief and small the time in her study
She called to me to become visible…her friend
All five candles spoke of her

In hymn that brought to deluge a silent thought
How she had mothered me, encouraged and uncovered me
I listened, and my past loves as doves took flight into sunrise
She held the invincible summer

And as I listened, I heard her in the room
So brief my humble heart lurched forward in strain
It was her laughter…the musical notes in luster
All seasons breathed in her

Finally, in the prayer, I understood
Her touch had made the ground equal and even
Without a doubt to bring me here
She keeps the invincible summer

I wish to humbly share with you, as I resided close enough to attend her memorial, and I was so blessed to be remembered here.
Lyra wrote of me, and I was so honored...and never able to articulate the person she shined to me on the day we finally met.
These mere words could never do her justice, but her smile said it all.  Thank you. TD

My friend,  you have returned to us a
warmth that she gave to you.  Coming into
our lives by the words that you have written
in a generous way,  a loving way.

Thank you for sharing those moments with us,
and rest blessed in your heart that you had
that moment with a grand lady...

This is a beautiful tribute to Lyra. It brought tears to my eyes because I miss her so. She was one of my first real friends here and never will be forgotten.
