Middle of the Bed I lay in the middle of the bed, in the very spot where we shared so many nights, where we whispered so many words, did all the things lovers do – where I loved you and you loved me until we could hardly breathe anymore – and I wonder if a thousand miles away you’re thinking of me, as I of you, if your blood runs hot, your heart beats fast, and if you’re filled with the kind of love I know . . . I close my eyes and picture you, kiss the thought, whisper goodnight – tomorrow . . . tomorrow, at last. w. james beard, jr. (c) may 2003 |

This is so beautiful, James. And, I am so glad that I know that my Honey-Love also feels this, just as I do...... and I wonder if a thousand miles away you’re thinking of me, as I of you, if your blood runs hot, your heart beats fast, and if you’re filled with the kind of love I know . . . Hugs to you, friend, Ethel |

Ah yes, one can't help but sigh when thinking about the middle of the bed. Anyone who has ever shared this space with another would know of this. I can almost hear the blues guitar in the background. |
