When We Meet...


There may be no warm sunshine, to greet us when we meet.
But smiles on both our faces will outshine those in retreat.
If showers come, we'll bathe in know, discussions, present/past.
And then begin tomorrow's hope, extended hands to last.

You will be gone just days from now, no words of ours to share.
But inside me are thoughts of next, those picture poems there.
We'll walk the beach and comb the shore for seashell memories.
Gathering the moments new, in friendship gift of ease.

And when we leave we'll walk away, deep sighing in the end.
For we will know the strength in both has forged "forever friend".
