Ars Poetica I. Poetry is taking a blind man and trying to describe the rainbow to him using no adjectives. II. The Poet walks into a dark room and paints the air white... or at least attempts to while the whales eat him whole and recreate him again. III. The muses and the poet, locked in a game of baseball, forget that the poet must die and forever they linger, haunting students with a bigger picture. |

Well, many different poets can write an Ars Poetica. Basically, an Ars Poetica is the poet's poem in which they try to state what poetry is. Since every poet's view on this is different, there can be many poems with this same title, but with very different content. [This message has been edited by aran (05-26-2003 12:37 AM).] |
