Unto Us A War When I awoke in a field of blood saw God’s face in the clouds above, felt His tears raining down, my soul split apart and half of me stayed with those whose feet would never touch ground again. Unto us a war was given, thousands upon thousands came and for many only the souls came home to try and explain it wasn’t they who chose to die. In this field of blood where I stand there’s not another man that lays or sits or stands as I ... alive, and though no wound from this will cause my death, inside my heart I’ve died. Unto us a war was given, and in this field brothers and friends, and men at whom they’ve pointed guns and knives, have died, and I see their souls in shimmering dusky light arm in arm and mingling tears and wondering . . .why. Unto us a war was given, from us they’ve stolen lives and to us in fields of blood , to us who have survived, they’ll never be able to justify, why . . . Unto us, a war was given. w. james beard, jr. (big hugggsssssssss) Oh James, it is terrible, and the only reason we keep having wars is because our politicians don't act like soldiers! (sad sigh) They are the true cowards and until they act like soldiers, we'll only keep destroying each other in this ridiculous firefight, we all love you so much!
