I speak softly
The words I would say
But they paint empty
As a Van Gogh sky
Minus swirled stars
To grace the blue
Imagined
In the black backgrounds lain down
Layer after layer with care
And resolve to hide
The white
Underneath.

Only the thoughts
Of lips graced
In gentle brush of mine
With blush of unsure
Add the color
In swirls
Of
Remember.

Gallery halls
Echo clicked heels
And deserted
Walls cling to the mirage
Art once was found
Inside
Something I was

Sweeping the pieces
Off marble
My syllables broken
Are now ground again
And mixed
For the next time
I paint you.

You've been missed
this long week...

I feel as if I had
stood in the rain,

reading this.

Sunshine.. this long week..lol.. has been a long week.. as for missed, you can find a few offerings shared as duets over in sanctuary..so you can see  have not been a total slacker like Dunc..

This portait of words flows a liquid beauty of layers...syllables smoothly mixed fall softly upon the hearts of those who dream of the poetic flow found here in their own artistry.

Thank you...

Brad.. thank you
Raph... that word and I are not usually thought of in the same sentence.. lol
thanks bud..
patricia... the liquid beauty of layers lies in the unfolding of moments..some remembered and some wished for... I do little to paint them with words or to even hint at the delicate way they sometimes touch us...
thank you for the nice words... they are appreciated

Very, very excellent writing, Capt. Ron.
I really enjoyed reading it. I've missed
you, too, so I think I'll go to "Sanctuary"
and read your post. Thank you, Sitr, for
sharing your talented poetry.

The softly brushed words from your unique palette are always worthy of a rest upon the finest canvas, and within my mind.

Ethel.. you sweetheart are always far too kind with your praise... but I thank you.. lol

Icebox.. thanks for stopping by and the words.

Midnight... your thoughts seem far more delicate in reply than the rough hewn thoughts I share here.. thank you for the kindness..

Dangit Ron you make my brain hurt trying to comprehend the nuances of the things left unsaid hiding there between your lines...

Somebody pass the aspirin...

Oh yeah guess I should say artfully done as always.

So if I get my anti-slacker innoculation updated, will I be able to write like this?  Wondering, does it come in pill form...

so much feeling painted, brush stroke layering color until the finishing words fuel a sigh.  Hugs!
