Obviously I Had Noticed

I assume you are gone
So I shall have to pretend
Play all that make believe
That you are still my friend

I placed my trust in you
Over the last seven years
Behind the pretend smile
I shall be hiding my tears

I cared so much for you
Feelings I could not hide
The sad reality it seems
I have been swept aside

By falling upon deaf ears
It created  my frustration
Always dear to my heart
You were my inspiration

You never said goodbye
Only ever hang in there
Had you never realised
Silence caused despair

Obviously I had noticed
Lack of  communication
Although I cannot let go
Without your explanation

I can relate to the silence.  This is got to the worst thing a man can do to a woman.  Nothingness...I have discussed this with many women.  I am glad I did.  I thought I was alone in the deadly silence.  I am not and neither are you.  Perhaps, you shall never get an explanation from his lips, but do not let despair overcome you.  Instead, know that you did all you did to keep it together.  When communication lacks...there is nothing...nothing.

All my best to you.  I love your words.  I can so relate, and that is the name of the game.  You never be silent, my friend.  We need to hear you!

Hope, this beautiful poem is so sad with
the reality of things. I know exactly how this
feels. It's so hard when one of the parties in
a relationship refuses to communicate for
whatever reason they may think they have.
That's why my Love and I try so hard to keep
our communication so open with each other. We
both know how it feels when someone shuts you
out like that. I don't know if you've noticed
or not, but I stress the necessity of open communication
between couples in a lot of my love poems. It is
so necessary for a love to survive.

Sorry I got so long-winded, but Hope, I could
feel your pain so real as I was reading. Do keep
the hope and faith, though.
Heart hugs to you, friend
Ethel
