If you took the poet from me and my muse you’d come to see
A man that’s lost his blessings and the dream of being free
If you took my thoughts that echo and find way to often speak
Then you would find me falling to the ground and ever weak

If I would lose the voices and the rhyme that sings to me
And if my pen of colours faded clear to never see
I’d spend my time in misery, on torments road to hell
Without a poet’s muse in me; what story could I tell?

When days of black all come my way, my muse does wonder on
My poet, he does find and guide me strength to lean upon
He gives me something more than day and feeling of forlorn
He gives me seeds of thought in bloom and visions to be born

If sadness does surround my heart and words I cannot call
A strength inside does seize control and takes care of it all
My muse becomes my power, my poet turns to pen
To bring me back to road of hope and happiness again

So may it stay inside me, what does turn the hurt to thrill
The muse of all my music and my poets’ scroll of quill
May day until forever fill me with the want to share
My muse and inner poet, who without I’d never dare

You speak for many of us who are writers of poetry. This was eloquent and poetic-soul-touching.

How empty we would be
without our muse's fantasies...

Thank you Rick!

*sigh* yeah....

Rick, once again you've managed to describe how I feel...and this is most how I feel when I stop writing.  Or, this is what causes me to stop writing...something like that! :-)  Great job!  I love reading you as always.

I hear you and know this feeling!  I am getting reacquainted with this type of writing again.  I was lost so many years.  Now that I can share my feelings with paper and ink, I am found again.  So many thoughts, ideas, concepts that I wouldn't dare speak with my lips, culminate at my finger tips. (Oh no, sounds like a poem coming on here.)
Rick, thou doth inspire with pen.

Thank you for sharing your feelings, ideas, and concepts with us.

You know Rick, even if someone took away your pen and parchment, and threw you into a deep dark dungeon...

And somehow prevented you of ever writing another poem...

You would still be the same man...

Your mind and soul, would still be there, to keep you...

As the seeker of truths and melodies, of life...

Great Poem Rick!

Your Pal,

Richy

Hello Rick

Your words speak volumes and I can relate to this so very well.  At the moment I am feeling a bit down as the words are not flowing as they normally would, for the first time in two years.  My fear is that I won't write as before and that thought saddens me.  May you forever be able to share your inner thoughts through your magical pen for us all to enjoy.

through each verse to create
a most beautiful tapestry
for us all to admire"

Hello Sue, I have had these thoughts again and again, I would write on writer's block and just what ever came to my head at the time, I was still writing, but not the way that it came before, then by something I was inspired again and it all returned, don't worry Sue, it is all there in your head, just awaiting the right time, then you will write better than every and again feel the happiness it brings.
Thank you for your reply and comments, I hope you will soon find your inner happiness again.

Dear Dixie, thank you for this reply, there are many things that we can not do without and friends as yourself are one of them to me, take care my friend, hope you are well.

To both of you, again thank you.

Sincerely
Rick
