I remember when I first met you
across a crowded room I saw you
caught in a sea of curiosity
I swam to you.

I can't remember what drew me
to you
surely it was not appearance
for you never looked at me.

It was but curiosity of the unknown
that brought me to you
as we danced into the night
time stopped
images of past
dark memories
flooded my mind.

As we spun on the dance floor
at times I wamted to step aside
quietly excusing myself
but I was entranced
and couldn't leave
your dark spell enslaved me
though you had spoken not a word

The music began to slow
couples to embrace
as some sugary Barry Mannilow song
played softly in the distance

I wanted to kiss you
sealing my affection
but I had never seen you
so I gently turned your pretty head
and at once
recoiled in discust
the sparkling gem once envsioned
were only empty sockets
through which I could almost hear
the wails
of a million souls

I tried to stop the carousel
end the madnes
but a light shone
in the center of the room
and from it stepped
a man dressed in white
extending his hand
he asked her to dance

I watched from the punch table
as withered lips
sucked life from
this poor man
and then at onced
he fell lifeless
to the ground

As he fell
the room shook
the song stopped
the world watched

Then at his final breath
singing so sweetly
as she vanished
in the shadows
blowing a kiss
farewell foolish soul
for this my last dance

I just stood there
dumbstruck
and have ever since
the night I danced
with the Angel of death.

Well done!  You do know that she won't take you unless you are on her dance card.

Well, this struck me dumb.
