you walk down the alley beeline for the market a couple passes by with their unity engaged putting fisticuffs on your stable gaze leaves you wishing you were buying arsenic instead of filler for the rum I never wanted to be inspired in this way too many hours spent in those clutches back in the dark ages all their apologetic stumblings lead you down into the cellar with the broken lightbulb no need to hear her out in one version or another youve already that speech theyre all the same and the reasons why… usually something to do with the old guard a renewal of vows (born in the cemetery) the sure thing that those in the know warned you about assured you long and hard was coming in (and not to show) but no, always the longshot for you never been one to measure the distance between reality and where you were laying down your arms finding it a little hard to sit here and be surprised about any of this never had one yet that led me into light instead of the tar pits watching me as I go… away I just must say that love is a fools game better to indulge the flesh and burn the photos never looking back to the cowards and their malicious innocence we don’t hate you how could we we just hate the way you make us feel and all the hidden costs that go along with it |

Nice slice, well done. There is an old saying, old in light of today's more exotic rapidly fatal diseases; it is, "Better to have failed your Wasserman test than never to have loved at all." |

"never been one to measure the distance between reality and where you were laying down your arms" someone actually caught you off guard? |
