(I had no desire
to become the plasticene)
This illustration
of your mind--
conjugating verbs
defined
as power--
sentence
in surcease.

I did not ask
for posies--dying--
spread upon a velvet cloth
or shiny pennies
copper sloth
assuaging guilt's
indulgences.

Do NOT--
light that flame
for me
Don't you dare
fall to your knees--
keep the flowers on the stem,
gather incense for your bed
in hopes that then
you might dream sweet...

and even then? Don't dream of me.

Don't you know I envy you?
even as you weep chagrin...
I long for freedom's chains of flesh.

I crave--the hedonistic sin.

It was there
buried deep
on page ten--
a miracle--
once again
a statue weeps.

Count the beads
of rosary,
velvet cushioning the knee.

Deny her pain
in majesty
but know that plastic bleeds.

Even the most pliable of things
can obtain a sharp enough edge
when honed correctly.

Made me recall that back in the "day", as a protestation of "plastic people", I was going to name my daughter

"Polly Etheline Rose"

It was the only girls name that we could agree on. (Hippies! Sheesh!)

Luckily, I guess, we had a boy...lol
(Chauvinists! Sheesh!)

Popping in to say thanks--again, this one of those writing exercizes I tried, where I just pick an object at whim, and just see "what comes out". In this case, it was a religious statue.

So thanks for reading, and as always for your kindness and generosity. I love you guys. (and gals, of course) I am an equal opportunity Hugger!
