And you and I...we breathe a different kind of air. As if we exist to a belonging of our own. This is our air. We swim through its distance...meeting at a common breath. There is only you and I in this clear and subtle ocean, This is our air. We feed it with our presence. Until it grows thick and moist in the weight of our desires. It is ours. |

Well, there you go again, and there I go again. In the cool crispness of this morning, I can't seem to break free of thoughts of him. Now the longing is even greater than was before my eyes gazed upon your verse. -Patricia |

Dear Patricia, There is no need to break free. This is my favorite Rumi verse...I seem to refer to this in all my spiritual (and its all spiriual) matters. "This longing you express Is the return message." The grief you cry out from draws you towards union. Your pure sadness that wants help is the secret cup. Listen to the moan of a dog for its master. That whining is the connection. There are love dogs no one knows the name of. Give your life to be one of them. ~Rumi Dear Patricia...our longing tells a greater story. Allow it to speak through you. And then share it. Love, Eric |

Wind, wind beneath my wings is enough to fall and rise again. Gentle air and words Eric. A big smile to you, Etain. |

Ericc: Very well done. This poem expresses a very pink floyd-ish type theme in concise and cutting language. Short and sweet, the way i like it. |
