Picture by Alan Ayers

* * * *

They say that time can fly
And I guess that is quite true
But not a single day goes by
When I don't think of you

My life has moved along
But my memory remains clear
In my solitude I imagine
That for a moment you are here

I have a picture of us two
Way back when I was nine
We are sitting at the beach
Soaking up the warm sunshine

I have many treasured memories
Of our times spent by the sea
A time when there was us
But now there is just me

I will visit your grave
On the thirtieth of May
I'll bring a bunch of flowers
And for just a while I'll stay

I promise I won't cry
I know you'd hate to see me sad
But it will take a lot of effort
For I still miss you so much Dad

* * * *

"We sat together for hours
without saying a single word.
Our hearts were so finely tuned
to one another that we felt
no need to speak."

* * * *

"Love is the lifeline I cling to
when grief threatens to pull me down
into eternal darkness."

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

I know how this is. I feel the same about both my Grandmothers'. Touching poem Sue.

Sue, whenever you write about your Dad, it is always touching.

I know how much the "missing" is.
I try to visit when I can, and with my Mother coming here in June, it will be soon.

Hope you are well.

Lovely poem...
