The Scent of Myrrh

She came to me on a papers write
Through the chaos of my night
A butterfly seeking nectars sweet
Settled the edge of my retreat.

But the flowers bloom was near its end
And nectars flow was slow transcend
And though there was a mutual glow
December brings the cold and snow.

But my thoughts did harvest light
She granted me my wish that night
And since have I believed in God
This one province he graced his nod

My way had grown a grayer stark
She lit a candle to my dark
Freed for me, a resting dove
A moment’s passion of her love

And I can only say to her
She is to me the scent of myrrh.

Then breathe it deep, and breathe it well,
and soon you shall hear a tinker's bell...

Good morning, Sy...

Seymour Tabin, this is simply wonderful, to have felt the touch of life through time of need, to have shared a moment with the heart's messenger, to have been blessed by grace and the fortune of chance. Let the season of the butterfly come again soon.
Very much enjoyed my friend. Take care.

Sincerely
Rick

Your rhymes wrap round me in cadenced kissed delight,
verses of light and right take me on a butterfly's flight.
I know so little of the hint or scent of Myrrh ...
but you can be sure your poetry makes this moth purr.

Oh-- I know--Myrrh smells like raspberries

Seymour this is very beautiful, it holds a touch of melancholy, but butterflies and doves will soothe again your heart and light your nights.
.... with the scent of myrrh

Myrrh quells anxiety
Inducing pleasant sleep
Banishing the mares of night
And keeping dreams of sweet

Its oil supplifies the skin
Imparting healthy glow
Improves circulation
To the above and the below!

Myrrh is essential
To one's clarity of thought
It strengthens one's immunity
Heals ails with which one's fraught

When earthy scent fills your room
You'll know that she is near
She'll kiss you sweetly on the brow
Annointing you with myrrh

JM,
It's true you are my raspberry tea
The scent of myrrh is not for thee
Frankincense is more for Tink
For you are the wink in my winkiewink.
WWRS

Frank,
Glad you enjoyed.

Margherita,
You are very sweet, thank you.

Earth Angel,
So you know about Myrrh
How about frankincense?
Perhaps the both, you can stir.
It would make an odor of sense.
You are a delight,

(sigh) Let it burn like an incense blended with cinnamon and fill all the rooms of your heart with the fragrance like that of a place that feels like home! (big hugggssssss) I much enjoy this, sweet friend, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Sy, I once was given a gift of frankencense (sp?) and myrrh in a small gilt edged box. It seemed as if I held a bit of magic in my hands when I touched that myrrh.
Lovely poem, lovely memory.

Hello Seymour

As I write to you I have a stick of myrrh incense burning and it smells beautiful.  When I saw the title of your poem I just had to read it for it was too much of a coincidence.  I hope all is well with you.

Take care.....Sue
