I picture a charming castle sitting
atop a mountain high
Where dreamers gather to ponder
philosophy in the sky.
Closer to the heavens and so distant
from all that’s hell
I thought this must be the place where
the poets dwell.

I picture reflective souls united by
a common spiritual link
Cemented firmly together by mere
droplets of colored ink.
Sharing experience and wisdom that
only their pen can tell.
I thought this must be the place where
the poets dwell.

I picture spirits wandering in
perfect rhythm and rhyme,
Stopping to share a verse or two for
a moment’s time,
Allowing all to satisfy thirst at
their wisdom’s well
I thought this must be the place where
the poets dwell.

I picture me as one of them existing
in their universe,
Speaking the language of love that
is known as verse.
Then with incantation, a realization,
but not a spell,
I find I am now here in the place where
the poets dwell.

Patricia,  this is superb.  Might we all
gather there...or perhaps we already are...
Nicely done...

Smiling here, as I can picture them here as well as the river Styx.
Enjoyed the read.

I can picture you
at your secretary
in long silky robe
penning this by
candlelight...

where a poet dwells...

This is nice...would it only be writing?  And what of swimming and diving and sailing and hiking...and what of romance...just playing around...James

Patricia...

If the gates of sincerity were secured by a lock...

And goodwill was the key...

Then your soft hearted words, and genial compassion would gain you...

Perpetual access...

So Mademoiselle
I’m glad we both dwell
In a place so swell
Where many can spell
And many do tell
When my poems smell
And I say, “Oh well”
And then...

Farewell...

Patricia, this is about as close to that castle as it gets. And I am so glad you are here!

Patricia - yes, it's like this, but the castle on that mountain top where I go and ponder thoughts...
