"Lost Summer Days" By: Janna Shaffer Age: 14 As you sit in the warm, but tickling summer grass, Your hair faintly blows in the wind, and waves about in the air, as if it could fly, Just to look up into the sky, on a summer day, Takes all our thoughts and worries away. Sitting there, the two of us hand in hand, our silence isn’t overwhelming, because we both know we want to stay like this forever, Lost in the heat of a beautiful day, Looking in your eyes, you take my breath away. The bright sun beats down on both of us, and the heat makes us drowsy, but yet the moment is perfect, The day swallows us whole, as if we already knew, I hope everyday, like this, I spend with you. |
