Counting

It occurs, at times, when we are in
our slender thoughts
when we are ~
most vulnerable ~

just where insignificance lives,

if we were to begin the counting
of stars
or trees
or sand grains,

If we were to begin counting

each element, laying them gently,
one by one, each

       e                                     l
     b                                        e

then, how considerable might we deem it to be,
before we knew

that love would top them all

if we were to only count
on one?

Ah Élan..How beautifully you express yourself,
and put into perspective the minute things that bother us!
You very quickly have a way of looking at 'the big picture',
making the problem seem quite insignificant.
