It's funny how we live in this little world of our own We type out poems and opinions to other people we don't even know Never met you but here I'll tell you my deepest thoughts I don't mean to criticize because here I am doing the same But I wonder why we can't reach out to those here Who live in our world away from this computer screen Then again if it weren't for this pretend little world on my computer screen I'm afraid I'd be rather lonely because only you here Care to read my poems that reveal those thoughts I hide so deeply within So only you here really know me in my heart Thank You |

Sometimes it is a temporary need. Other times it becomes an addiction. Enjoy it while it lasts. M |

I understand this thought. It's sometimes easier to 'chat' with relative strangers about your heart's desires than to people you see face-to-face. But it sure is wonderful when you can find a person who lives/works/schools nearby who you can share your mind with and not offend or be offended by saying whatever comes from your heart. Thanks for sharing this! |

But I wonder why we can't reach out to those here Who live in our world away from this computer screen hmmm, because it's embarrassing...i know i wouldn't want anyone i know in real life to read some of my writings here... but you have a valid point...reach out to people we must and i'm continually trying to do that myself... thanks for the reminder..hee |

Welcome Alicia! Nice to meet you. I like it here too. I agree....it used to be so much easier for me to share my poetry here than with others, not so much anymore, but still once in a while. You'll like it here and I'm glad you found this place! Well written poem, too! ~Elizabeth Waited on a line of greens and blues, just to be the next to be with you.. |

Well thought out teenpoet. We live in a world that is forever closing in on itself in the name of expanding. Weird stuff. Keep up the good work. Phil |

Thank you all so much and this place really has helped. I like to come here and write, no matter whether anyone replies or not but when they do I love it because it makes you feel wanted. Thanx. [This message has been edited by teenpoet (05-07-2003 10:35 AM).] |

In the life I have lived I have found very few people who had any interest in the thoughts I express in poetry. Also in my case, most of the people I have encountered in the "real" world would not understand the motivation for writing poetry; they might even question the strength or trustworthiness of a poet. So, I do not see this place, or other web sites like it, as unreal just different. Thank you for raising the question, I needed to reflect on it for my own well being. Nice to meet you. |

Alicia, it is very nice to meet you. I'm very glad that I found Passions In Poetry. This is the first forum I've ever been on. I was always leary of the internet because of some of the horror stories that I've heard about it. But, I have learned that Ron tries his best to keep "his home" safe for people of all ages to come to read and share their poetry. I love it, and have made some very good friends here. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. Hugs, Ethel |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh teenpoet, it is a pleasure to meet you, dearest friend, this is the same reason I always post here and have so many osts, because though I've never met you or anyone here, there is still a spiritual understanding and appreciation between every one of us and our poetry and this is a special coterie unlike any other I've ever known with love and freedom! (smiles) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is wonderful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet teenpoet, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story |

Here we can pretend, here we have friends that will listen without passing judgement that we can see, there is not a physical presence which makes us feel belittled, it is our world of pretend and contentment. I have both worlds and try to keep my hobby going in my spare time, of which there is little, but it seems the less time that I have the more I tend to write and enjoy. We are all pen friends here, happy to read and reply, so while you are here enjoy. Ring a friend and go for a visit, the computer will still be there when you get back. Best of luck. Sincerely Rick |
