Melinda Was Mine

It wasn't that I
was insanely jealous.
It was more like I had become
emotionally attached to her persona
and couldn't stand the thought of
her so close to another man.

So what was I supposed to do
when I noticed her in the mall
kissing a man I didn't approve of?
And why did she seem to be enjoying
that kiss way too much to convince
me that they were only friends.

So don't blame me when I ripped
them apart and proceeded to rearrange
his lipstick stained face.
I would not consider that an
act of an insanely jealous man.

Or was it Melinda?
