Too Deep
5/4/03

You smile my way
And I can see
That you still love
Oh yes, you still love me
Your gentle touch
And tender looks
Are proof enough
That you still care

We have problems
Things to work out
But we are both too deep
Too deep to be just friends

I sense the thought on your mind
The words on your lips
But scared are you
And scared am I
Days go by
Events come and go
But our feelings stay
And yes, our love still grows

We have problems
Things to get through
But we are both too deep
Too deep to be just friends

You ought to know
That I feel the same
Anxious for the time to come
Where we can be one and one together
Time ticks by
Chanting mocks the clock
Hearts burst; tears shed
Bed of roses to ashes

We aren’t through
It can’t be done
We are both too deep
Too deep to be just friends

Tanya:

I know this . . .
and yes . . . a tough role to play

But we are both too deep
Too deep to be just friends

Nice.....
I like how the one verse was repeated!!!
Bridgette

"Somewhere, somehow, it should be possible to touch someone and never let go again.  To hold someone, not for a moment but forever." Unknown

Excellent job!  I love the repetition of "too deep...to be just friends"

Also, I love the lines:
"Time ticks by
Chanting mocks the clock" -- I am a sucker for alliteration and also for clock/time metaphors.  Very cool!

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...
