I knew you years ago when you were gentle soft and smiled all the time. Was that so many places, people, dreams ago? Only the bones holding your skin in place still work to look the same; the smile that was warmth, the sparkle that were eyes, the shimmer of your hair, I only see through memories; without their blessed numbing blindness I would cry. ©2003 by icebox |

Humans are the only of earth's species to mark linear time; in doing so we use all sort of measuring devices. Justbleu~Yes, sad, but perhaps an unavoidable sadness. I almost did not post a "first" poem because it is such an intimidating amount of talent displayed here. aries_luv_ppl ~ I am glad you liked it. Thank you for reading.
