Introduction: I had never given much thought to the idea of predestination until I met and married my beautiful wife, Xiao Yan. I knew you, my dearest, in long gone days, Your face did my dreams adorn. I knew of your grace, your warmhearted ways; I knew you before you were born. Before you were born, my treasured one, I knew you would one day appear Like bright, golden rays of morning sun, Or the music of bells ringing clear. I knew of the beauty of body and mind, I knew of your wondrous eyes; I knew of the nature so gentle and kind, I knew of your spirit so wise. I knew you, my darling, through loneliness While I waited for you in my life; I yearned for the feel of a whispered caress As you vowed to be lover and wife. When you finally came I knew it was you (I had known you for ages before) So I took up your hand (as you wanted me to) And I saw 'twas my ring that you wore. Yes, I knew you, my loved one, from long gone days When you came on that predestined morn; I could now feel the grace of your warmhearted ways Known in dreamings before you were born. Oh lovely! Now I am curious - did you meet on your travels there (referring ot your submission in prose?) if I may ask? Funny, how we know we have been waiting all our life for that special person when they finally show up. Don't be too hard on yourself - even Einstein had trouble tying his shoelaces. |
