Stranded In Apathy |

In a stupor I ask myself; Is there a purpose? I'm not really sure. Looking at the world, from within a daze. Is there a reason? I don't really think so. Confused and leary, hurt too much, and misled too often. Not sure I care. Striving for too much, grasping once too often; Desired beyond my means. Ended up with nothing. Any hope for better, is shrouded in reality, as the world settles in. Stranding me in apathy. Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. |

Jaded and toughened by the lessons of life! It can all be overwhelmingly, frustratingly, achingly confusing to say the least. You hit the nail on that concept my friend. And anyone that professes a passion for Star Trek is alright in my book! Voting. |

Life can do that to us at times--but if we stay in an apathetic state for long, it becomes increasingly harder to get our momentum going again--we lose more ground in the grand scheme of things. It becomes more difficult to be pro-active and grab hold of the helm of our ship. We sail aimlessly on the sea of life..... Oh, my! I certainly am rambling on, aren't I!--That just goes-to-showya, you wrote a good poem that provoked thought! Love & Light, EA |

But this is for big and small egos alike...I have been tinged by apathic moments...the why make the extra effort when others have milked me..but I had let some and for others I did not have the courage to say 'stop'...good one for you, I understand much of what you're saying |

Hmm... I'm TRYING to equate you to apathy... Having trouble with that - but no problem voting... |

You don't view me as the apathetic type Nan? Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. |

(big hugggssssss) Oh JP, I too feel if we stay too long in a state of apathy, we only have more regrets in the coming times and we must believe in something as that can tear away the blankness! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, this is very honest, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet JP, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! JP,I have to admit...I am very curious as to what inspired you to write this.Funny,a friend of mine last night conveyed his distrust of a fellow who approached a group of us on the street. At the end of telling us about an ordeal he just had with the police where he was erroneously arrested, this fellow walked away nearly sobbing. My heart went out to this guy and I felt so prompted to do something, say something, but felt helpless. This certain friend of mine had nothing to say but myriad negative comments. Believe me,I have been used, abused, and have had things happen to me that you would find hard to believe, but I have never lost my faith in people and I have never gotten to the point of apathy.Honestly,I am not criticizing you nor am I invalidating your feelings,I just am intensely interested in the reasons behind your writing.I just believe that bitterness can lead to sociopathic behavior and bring very little fulfillment into a life.No offense to you... just concern and a hope that you find a better road. I cannot be apathetic about your poem... Call me an idealist.... but I have seen too many good people with noble intenions be affected by the world's lack of acceptance of them. It is a sad state of affairs that leads you to write these words... but just the same... well done! Never loose your light to the mighty winds of indifference. Sherry Cherish the good memories of the past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. But above all... be kind to yourself today. |

Thanks for the votes and the comments y'all. For those of you concerned for my mental well-being... be assured that this work - as all of mine - was just a moment in time, captured in words as the mood hit me, not a reflection of my state of being in general. Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn. |
