Familiar, elusive words
soughing in rhythmic fields,
like the wail of my distant present.
Flora stands guard
in silent salute to my wandering,
yeilding their indifference on wind.
Unsettling my questioned gaze
fixes upon the patterns
set in motion underfoot.
Subliminal answers
pool around me, then
ripple away from my tardy grasp.
I can no more see
their intended direction
than to cease
the very air that drives them.
The cycle repeats
as the flowers roil
with the next new sigh of breeze.
And with a risk-filled confidence
I lay down
amidst their lessons,
to find what I seek
in this carpet of peace.

Noah thank you for your graceful and gracious words as always, they are appreciated.

BluesSerenade, Joyce, Ethel and Spirit, thanks for the lovely responses and support.

NewEnglandlazurlu I'm glad that you found a peacefulness in my words for that was their intention.

Bridgette, what can I say...you have bumped me right into a most humble and heartfelt appreciation for your support.  Thanks so very much my friend.
