I wrote this back in '94 when I accompanied a friend and his mother to a laundramat in Reading,PA. I was bored to tears, but then my eyes fell on this man who had the stature of a pro wrestler, washing and folding the prettiest little things...

Watching someone's husband fold his wife's designer wear
Folding up the dresses neat and clean with constant care
But does he ever covet all those patterned underwear?
Perhaps he hides there in the closet just to wear them if he'd dare!

He'd look lovely in that nightie,or that wicked leopard frock
Perhaps something off-the-shoulder while the closet is unlocked
He thinks the pink chiffon too dainty, while he's tryin' to beat the clock
But that negligee's so naughty, perhaps he ought to buy the stock!

I see that as he's folding panties, his eyes look faraway
He's dreaming of his wife's vacation when he's free at home to play
He'll dress up like a beefy Barbie in scand'lous lingerie
Now,wouldn't it surprise him that his wife comes home that day?!

(giggles in delight) Oh my gosh, this is so delightful, sweet friend, this brought a smile to my face as such things like this too would make my day as we all do things for one another we don't typically do! (smiles) I love this, sweet friend, you have my begin-cycle vote, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Geoffrey, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

LOL, now how can I go to the laundermat ever again, and not wonder if someone is gonna write a poem about the sheets I am folding, thinking I might wear them as a Toga, or that maybe the towels turbans...LOL

I must tell you all (lol) that I get such a kick out of reading this and remembering. And
some of your responses worrying over who is going to analyze you while you go to the laundramat just cracks me up!
Beware of the "Laundramat Voyeur" !

Wonderful. Gave me a nice laugh.

I don't go to laundramats very often, but maybe I should try sometime when my muse has left me. Maybe she will be there reading the stories behind the various people she is coming in contact with.

Glad to make you laugh,Amara!

Dawn,I'm curious on what your muse would be wearing. How do we know if one of the nine isn't in drag, huh? lol

Thank you,Skyfire,for voting.Cool name,by the way!

Thanks,Ringo, for your vote.I guess we all could use more laughs lately.I have to say,I am curious about your biker friend!

I don't often write comedic writings, although when I am inspired to do so,I am laughing so hard at myself that it's amazing that I get anything down.I wrote 3 others for the recent "Corner Pub" that I am particularly proud of: "Loops, loops and more loops","She's the ghostly apparition of the planet Xar",and,"Speculating Septuagenarians".Good Lord, you should see the amount of "dark and drearies" I have written through the years!!! God forbid if I would post them.I'd have you all taking Prozac!

Here's to more laughs,Geoffrey

Geoffrey, I could have sworn I voted on this once?  Must have been one that got lost and that is a real shame, as you have a way of setting the mood and holding the reader until the last letter!  Vote is in m'friend.
