Whatever good was left in my mind Is something you were able to find You made me offer the chaos a voice And lent me belief I have some choice In whatever paths my feet might walk, Whatever dreams my heart might stalk. Whatever worthy there is in me Is because of you - you helped me to be More than a husk around my mistakes. A heart keeps beating long after it breaks. I may not ever learn to forgive Being so stupid, but I’ve learned to live, And you are my source for whatever hope I use to hang onto the end of my rope. Whatever time I’ve left for breath I will need you - Your absence is death. |

And you are my source for whatever hope I use to hang onto the end of my rope. Whatever time I’ve left for breath I will need you - Your absence is death. ============================== Ruthie girl, those last 2 lines are classic suthern poetry and the reason I always read some of me in your heart hitting rhymes divine...a perfect and just poem to reflect your work in the book. 'A heart keeps beating long after it breaks.' Very nice...that line just stuck with me. Definately a vote-worthy poem. Blessed Be Thee, Stephanie Every heart has hidden treasures...a secret wish, a silent dream, and a cherished love. [Unknown] |

I almost hate to respond to your poems, Belle, because you then turn self-deprecating and it hurts to see you put yourself down. However... This poem is wonderful. The message is consistent, well written, and rings so true. Whenever you write, Suthern, you do it so well. [This message has been edited by LngJhnAg (03-18-2003 09:37 AM).] |

Suthern beloved one this is as always truly exquisite writing and I love it utterly. YES into the book with you, this is perfect. Its funny, but when my mind drifts away To the hollow shell he left that day I don’t recall the pain that pierced me I think of finding my soul suddenly On that path of sorrow that I walked on Suddenly there was a vista of hope’s sun The gift that he unwittingly gave to me A sister of soul, someone who is especially So full of love and such hope’s delight In you I found my way back from night Its strange but in what he left behind Was within more than I thought I’d find A sister of soul who lifted me once more And set my feet to walk on hope’s shore The greyness that I thought covered me Was wiped away by your smile lovingly And though at the time I cried so much You showed me the truth of love’s touch Perhaps I should say thanks to him for you For the gift that he didn’t know was true Just two souls cut by the same cruel hand But in sharing that fate we both understand That it wasn’t our fault we weren’t to blame His was the hand, which cursed love’s name You gave me a voice you lifted my soul And together we rise again new and whole Thanks beloved one for all you are You are a wonder, a treasure and a star Marsha I love this one darling heart, it is as smooth as silk which slips over my mind like a cloak of wonder. Truly you are excellent and I love it utterly Love and warm stuff As always Mushy Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds but I can face the future with courage brave and bold Footprints In My Heart Kethry [This message has been edited by Marsha (03-18-2003 06:42 PM).] |

Ya know dear friend, I seem to remember a woman with your same name, in another place, at another time, saying that she couldn't write poetry. I realize now, that you must not be the same woman, for you dear lady, are a wonderful poetess. [This message has been edited by WhiteRose (03-18-2003 07:01 PM).] |

I may not ever learn to forgive Being so stupid, but I’ve learned to live, I think this rhyming poem succeeds in the sense that the rhyme don't feel forced to me...and i had to chuckle at the "stupid" concept |

JM: Your vote always counts with me. *S* I thank you very much! *S* M’Toe: I hope the same for you... and thank you so much! *S* Kethry: Breathe, gal. *G* I couldn’t bear to lose you. LOL Thank you!!! Chanson: I’m glad you liked... thank you! Dark Angel, Earth Angel & Spirit: Forgive me, but I couldn’t help grouping you together. LOL How can I lose when I have angels and spirits on my side? LOL I thank each of you so very much... and appreciate you beyond words. *S* Amara: I’ve learned that one the hard way. *G* Thank you very much... glad you liked! *S* Titia: You dear... *S* Thank you for BOTH visits and vote! *S* skyshine: They are indeed. *S* Thank you! *S* PDV: I know you do. *S* Thank you. *S* Enchantress - Thank you very much! *S* garysgirl: I’m glad you think so! *S* Thank you! *S* Joyce: I thank you very much. *S* LJA & Cpat: So THAT’s the excuse you two are using for not emailing me, hunh? LOL Thank you, kind gentlemen. *S* You are both... well, I started to say dears, but feared you’d think I was calling you Deer... then I thought of saying sweethearts... but heaven knows what Deer and Toe could do with that innocent statement. LOL So I’ll just say you’re special. *S* Tammy: I thank you. *S* Marsha: Dear lady, your poem touches me deeply... thank you for it, for your comments... and for you. *S* However we found each other, I’m grateful. *S* Rosie: Who? Me? LOL What can I say... Toe and Long John disagreed.. *G* And between my total conviction that Toe is never wrong and the incredible poem LJA wrote for me, I found a bit of belief. *S* Thank you so very much! *S* Lone Wolf: Thank you so much... your name is a much welcome one! *S* hoot: And I thank you, lady. *S* Sven: I’ve missed yours, too... welcome back! *S* And thank you very much. *S* Balladeer: ROFL... that was implied, wasn’t it? LOL Thank you very much, Deer One! *S* vlraynes: I’m so glad... thank you! *S* kaile: If only we were anatomically able to kick our own behinds when needed. *G* Thank you very much... I’m glad the rhymes worked for you! *S* Nan: I’m so glad you think so... and I thank you very much! *S* KS: Thank you... I agree. *S* Charisma: I’ve had a lot of those “where’s my comment” moments lately, so I understand. *G* Thank you very much! *S* |
