Take #2

I would have come sooner had I known;
yet the gimly eyed goblins
of communication
let me down again-

They did not pass by my sty
where my wallow of guilt
consumes the songs of you

they did not peer through
my broken windows
where the splinters of disappointment
embedded from our union
have corrupted my vision

I have come, knowing the
maggots of silence
will have eaten our love

I view the pristine marble
of your countenance
untouched by pain or life
and sigh in regret
for lost promises
in shattered dreams

You lie still and cold
much as you were within life
and the wallow of grief
shreds my soul

To touch you once again
is my vision and my prayer;
yet, did I ever touch you?

The distance of our fears
became the shroud
of indifference
long before this point in time

and now it is too late -
eternal silence fills me
as the corruption of our love
is finalised -
I would have come sooner had I known.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

I would have come sooner,
but I was drunk on
maggot wine. Silly Kethry,
this is bookish.

Keth beloved one and painter of a soul’s inner beauty once more your writing is simply stunning. I can't recall what I wrote the first time but you always have my vote, and if I could I'd stuff the ballot box. Not that you need such trickery your writing is always superb, and this is splendiferous

Keth weaves a web and I see the grace
Woven throughout a special trace
The lightest touch of gossamer breeze
Of words that flutter through to tease
And in the wonder I see the way
The words and rhythm interplay
She leaves the thought hanging free
Waiting for the reader to just see
How the thought is threaded here
Over and under the dreamers tear
And when the piece is ready to show
She leaves within it a special glow
This is why her writings always shine
Keth beloved you are so divine

Yes I love it utterly

Love you always
And forever
Slushy

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds
but I can face the future with courage brave and bold

I welcome the chance to vote for this one again... we'll let Artemis and Ron figure out what's lost and what's not. *S*

This is superb, Keth... such an excellent portrait of the regrets too many of us know.

How sad and ironic that many do take for granted the love around them, until it becomes too late.  It is a most painful lesson to learn.  I enjoyed this powerful poem very much my friend.
