Here, Outside of Eden

I'm looking past the window pane
Out at the clouds of falling rain
That hover o'er in shades of gray
To paint the sky with drab dismay
I wonder if the birds will sing
Again to welcome days of spring
When Lover's lips will once more kiss
And speak the words I reminisce
Oh, showers come to drench the hill
That I will watch and linger still
Here in my hibernated state
Where solace must my heart await
The hollow knock upon my door
As fragrant springs will flow once more
To steal away my dark despair
And fly my spirit through the air
Above the dreary clouds of Earth
Unto the land of joy and mirth
Back to Eden where life began
When GOD made Nature one with man.

The title is pure poetry and the rhyme and cadence of this is pure heaven...this MUST be read aloud to do its meter justice..it dances off the lips!!
One of the real gifts of this book forum is that it gives us a chance to read poets from other forums that we might not frequent due to time restraints and so on...and its been a treat to read your lovely spirited poetry and your generous and sincere replies.
Very well done poet sir!

Mistletoe Angel,

(Smiles) You know me too well, my friend, for true my melancholy is but for only a brief moment.

hoot_owl_rn,

Funny that you were first captivated by the title for it was the title that began this poem as a challenge from my dear poet friend VAS.

Magicmystery,

I've been tabling for some time, now, over a year, and Mysteria with Ron's guidance has been very helpful in teaching me how to table somewhat correctly.

Earth Angel,

All these warm hugs and fine compliments are definitely making me want to return for more.

the_loner_23,

I've noted that you've been really getting out there, reading, and voting and I really do appreciate that in you.

ThunderMage,

Thanks kind sir for your vote!!!

Enchantress,

Thanks again for your kind words and your warm praise hugs. I do appreciate them very much.

Joyce Johnson,

I see you found me both times. Thanks so much for your vote.

Jason Lyle,

Seems that my poems have become quite addictive to you... and I think that's a good thing. Thanks.

Janet Marie,

Thank you so much for your delightful response. It's as I stated earlier that this poem was actually inspired by the title, and the title was inspired by a Challenge some time ago by our poet friend VAS. The challenge was to write a poem about this or to include this very line that she found or thought up. Anyway, it led to the poem that you have read. I think I accomplished what I intended here to have the poem flow effortlessly until the last two lines... and like you, I've sincerely enjoyed getting out and making some new friends.

Thank you my SPIRIT friend!!!

aries_luv_ppl,

Thanks for your nice reply... I'm kind of like you in that I don't know which one of my own poems that I like best, but I am glad that you liked this one.

Justbleu,

Gosh!!! I feel like I've made a new acquaintance here for it seems like I'm reading you everywhere. I appreciate your generosity here for one more vote. Thanks!!!

cupcake,

I appreciate that you're a reader and now a voter... Us poets love to be read.

Mysteria,

Thank you dear friend. I think to answer your response that I am this way most probably is because of all the time that I've spent being nurtured over in the "Spiritual" forum. That soul soooothing poetry is bound to rub off.

LngJhnAg,

Glad you stopped in for a second round. I think the lack of punctuation works quite well here to induce a constant flow as you have stated... It works well, that is as long as readers stop to take a breath on their own and don't pass out. (Smiles)

There are two cool things happening here. One, we get to read your great poetry. This is a beautiful poem displayed beautifully. And two, because you are submitting it for the book and because everyone wants to have part in creating it by voting, a lot of people are reading you for the first time. THIS is one of the better benefits of the book I think!!

vlraynes,

(Smiles) Thank you for your "Beautiful" reply.

Bill Charles,

Seems our fingers think alike my friend... My finger has not found a poem here that it doesn't like.  This is such a wonderful forum I think of superb poetry.

Poet deVine,

You certainly know how to make a grown man blush. (Geeeeez!!!) I humbly accept all that you have written here about my poem and I agree with you whole heartedly about the opportunity that we are given here in this forum. I think it's cool as you have stated that so many wonderfully talented poets are able to read me for the first time, but I am also enjoying reading others for the first time. I really think this forum is an epitome of Ron's mission as stated that we be a family of friends. This forum does, I believe, motivate us poets out of our own individual boundaries, circle of friends, and comfort zones to discover, to read, and to meet someone new, talented, and most exciting. We truly are, individually, just a small part of one great big flourishing vine. Very good observation my "of the vine" poet friend.

regards2you,

I was a little worried about the flow, but like you have stated, so many have said that they liked it and that makes me very happy. Thank you for your kind reply.

Jenn Cirrincione,

Thank you for that "pretty" comment.

Duncan,

Thank you. I guess you noticed that there's no picture of me here. Like you, I prefer words.

fractal007,

Sorry I missed you above. (Ouch) I've been enjoying reading you here as well. Your poems and prose stimulate the brain and that's a good thing... and about the other, well... We'll just have faith. (Amen)

Nan,

(kewl) You and your new found words... (Big Smiles) Thanks for giving this one a visit and I'm a whole lot pleased that you enjoyed it.

Jamie,

What a nice compliment. W. B. Yeats was a fine poet indeed and many of his poems were spiritual in content. I trust your judgment here and between you and me I also believe that this poem would make a nice addition. Thank you for your vote.

Trillium,

Thank you!!! Needless to say, I truly do love your poetry also and if my poem doesn't make the book, well I'll be just as happy to see your poem there in its place. (Amen) You are a masterful poet my friend and your poems all carry such wonderful messages. Thanks again my friend for your vote and your continued inspiration.

christian,

(Big Smiles) You've got a delightful way of describing things my poet friend.... and, I am so very delighted that you digested and enjoyed this my piece of slippery sing song mixed with a hint of word honey.

Charisma,

Thank you!!! I am very pleased that you stopped back by to read this poem in particular because I do love what you have done with your picture. It seems like to me as evidenced in your photograph that you have already found a bit of Eden as I have described it here as being nature one with man or humankind. You do, in my meek opinion, make a perfect flower my friend.

GG (God's Girl),

(PTL!!!)Could we not just write forever about God's Creation alone....??? Well, I guess we most certainly could for He did create all things!!! (Amen) In my opinion, it is so wonderfully good to read here in your response that you are giving honor to whom honor is truly due.  Thank you my friend and God continue to bless and keep you.

Elizabeth Santos,

Thank you my poet friend. It is quite an honor for me to get such a "Beautiful!!" response from one who is well known to write most beautiful poetry. Thank you again.

jjote,

Blame it on the Internet!!! I always do.... it really is too bad that I don't get credit here for the amount of responses that I've gotten because with all of your responses this poem would surely have front page in the book. (Big Smiles) I can smile with you because I have done this quite a few times myself. God bless and thank you for your here demonstrated determination and enthusiasm.

garysgirl,

I completely understand because the fast pace of this particular forum is also quite beyond me as well and I know how people and poems can get so very lost in the shuffle of things. I am thankful though that you found me and that you were able to let me know that you read and stopped in for the visit. God bless.

How very nice of you to visit and to respond and most certainly, yes, I do agree that we do and must hold on to our faith and hope in those wonderful promises of the eternal. God bless you, my friend, and a great big Welcome to Passions.
