~ The Warmth of Him  ~

And the warmth of him....

bringing in the logs
     for the long cold winter
and making me tremble
with the promise in his eyes
                               ... of later

walking barefoot through dark, silent woods
green fir trees..dark brown eyes
                                  shiny black braids
bride red feathers
                                  turquoise beads
smoky prayers
around a campfire..my fine white horse
swifter than the north wind!

                and the warmth of him

strong, handsome brave
and favourite of the Sun god
soft hot breath against my breast
           lips murmuring
arms clinging, blood churning
          loins burning
while the rain beat gentle on the tent
          near the lake
and the pale Moon faded into dawn
at the moment when the wild birds cry

            and the warmth of him.

Nancy, even the title warms me up on this extremely cold day---mind you, it sounds like he might do a much better job of warming me up---I mean a much better job of warming YOU up! tehe

Exquisitely romantic and full of red blooded passion... Has a kind of close to nature feel to it that really adds to the mood I think. Enjoyed reading this poem very much and your poem gets a vote from me for sure. GOD bless.

This is steamier than a lake at dawn.... ~~~SSSS~~~~ sizzling!!!
The last line of the poem stands out for me ~~~incredible climax~~~

The lake isn't the only thing that has steam rising from it here!!!!
Gorgeous!!!

I love the way you can instantly transport the reader to different settings so quickly and seamlessly in this poem.  It's very fantastic and mystical.  I hope it gets into the book.
