Hopelessly Entwined

Funny that years and tears rhyme,
that they would be so inexplicable tied,
that one begets the other,
the other seems to last as long as the one.
You'd think they were made for each other,
like lovers,
teasing and melding in poetic beauty,
one not able to exist without the other,
life-long companions holding hands...
hopelessly entwined.
Funny that years and tears rhyme,
that we live them both...
neither free of the other.
Funny...isn't it.
