From whence can such awesomeness, such grandeur possess the need of touching the hands of life’s dregs? Can silk and lace intertwine with canvas and burlap? Or... will the moments be mere brushes, as cloth grazes gold and gems fall into a silken scarve.... I have felt this most terrifying feel. One where beauty stands before me and looks in the eyes of worry, where legions have traversed the cliffs in ice....as rocks have fallen perilously into the chasm of insecurity and pain. Oh...but to have, possess a face of the gods, that I might dine with the silken lace.....to touch the finger in linger as eyes gaze hopelessly in love....... Perhaps....perhaps I do.....through my heart and the parchment...Yes... perhaps....Or.. Perhaps, looking back into the eyes of beauty wed.....perhaps I do now... Yes, perhaps.... Barry The world is full of such dichotomy...one giving the other more impact, lace and leather more beautiful when seen together. I really enjoyed this poem and the thought that went into it. |
