Was it a body or a bundle? you could see it from an office window probably just a lifeless bundle of clothes. No...wait it stirs in the morning cold a bit of flesh appears...then there's a head! Office viewers react to investigate the heap, and not to tally life signs instead.... from their comfortable perch a selected member decides to desecend to see if life can be attributed...an unselfish end and identify the bundle or the body it hides... one would bend over to check for signs of life. The chosen one drew near to the mass recognized a chilled form..a human carcass attempted to take the pulse.. the body quickly stirred and recollapsed a policeman at a local cafe was informed of this then asked for more cream.. his order was amiss and left so somebody would call an ambulance in the flurry of onlookers that took their stance eager to capture hopeful signs of life and observe medics scurrying to catch a glimpse of a classic post holiday ritual. a glimpse of a post holiday reminder removed so efficiently, so quickly... case added to the 'departed' binder. Such a powerful piece, especially on Christmas night. Connected in mind to the body of Christ, and to the unfortunate renderings of human weakness...apathy, fear of involvement...fear of humanity. Thinking soft thoughts through this...reading over...and again. Sending wishes of peaceful gathering to the author. ThisDiamond |

Shaking my head, sad, a very sad truth in this one Martin. |

So sad indeed and it is all true, no exaggerations made. While working Christmas day a group of us noticed this poor bloke in a lane off Stanley street in Montreal and one did volunteer to take the guys pulse..an example of an mugging aftermath and it happens on Christmas too. Happy holidays to you Diamond and Midnite! |
