A state of mind, a knowing? Or, a place of soul, of spiritual substance? What is love? What does love mean? My best friend is love, she, I can ~feel~! For she is ~respectful~, of who I am, just as I am. For she is ~giving~, wanting nothing in return. For she is ~humble~, placing self below me. For she is ~trustworthy~, as I lay my private thoughts before her, she'll not betray. For she is ~open-minded~, considering our differences. For she is ~truthful~, teaching me honesty. For she is ~strong~, allowing me to be weak. For she is ~courageous~, allowing me to lay my fear upon her. For she is ~non-judgemental~, allowing for my imperfection. For she is ~wise~, knowing when to only listen. For she is ~soul food~, nourishing my spirit. ~That~ is what love is. May I emanate this gift I receive, back to the world around me. They say God is love, but, who is God? ~Love~! All the positive factors, plus, many not mentioned, which my best friend possesses, and gives to me. God, through her, through me, through you, We can make a difference, if we just ~LOVE!~ . . . ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

it sounds like you have a very special friend, to hold onto, my best friend is so far away, in another state, we only see eachoterh maybe once a year, but its like we always just start off where we left off last time we met. |

Inkedgoddess, Thanks for replying. Mine lives in Michigan and I am in California. So, know what you mean. And, I'm sure as you know with true friendship, you could go ten years without contact and still pick up right where you left off. These kinds of friends are often closer than family. I actually was trying to capture how we should all treat one another, and what a better world it would be.
