“VALENTINE LURKING” by Bill Charles ~~~~ I peeked my eyes out from the sheets, thought I heard a little something, from over here, or was it over there, h’mmm thought I, it was alarming… Did I hear the pitter patter of tiny feet, a’hhh, it was under the bed say what, dare I look into the dark of the under, or was it a dream, only an afterthought… I decided to hide once more in safety, or so I thought cause it really was not, then it happened, it just jumped on me, hit me in the nose, really weighted a lot… It spoke in gentle tones with words, hi you, did I surprise you this morning, my littlest angel, that’s who it was, this one, the littlest valentine lurking… ~~~~ |
