Every step I encounter I can feel the quiet. Like a wind-chill on my bones And a happy memory. Silence of my mind Lost in confusion. And I cannot relay to you This swiftness of my steps As you walk by and look At me. Much like a tamed lion, Still never to be trusted My stride is never caught Stillness leads me To hopes of tears. And I walk - And so it was that time stood still - |

"Every step I encounter I can feel the quiet. Like a wind-chill on my bones And a happy memory." I like those lines... Good poem, Alyssa. Keep up the writing! “We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best that we can find in our travels is an honest friend.” –Robert Louis Stevenson |

Alyssa, I can't say I fully understand this but it seems to have to do with trusting someone who changes and isn't always the same....that you can't count on that person...had hopes the situation was one way, but not necessarity is.. Anyway, that is my take and I like it. Hugs and love Pat hope you are doing okay w. headache ..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.. |

El Campeador, Glad you liked them! and thanks for replying. I think those are probably my favorite lines too Pat, I always love seeing what other people decipher from my writing. And your definition works quite well. Though when I wrote it, my thoughts were.. a tiger is strong and even a tamed one, you can never completely trust. And I think thats how it is, with soldiers. Who walk in silence, with pained eyes. Kind of spooky! Glad you enjoyed and replied hugs and love. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |

The Loner, You know, *sigh* your name always depresses me, but then, I suppose I like being alone most of the time too. Glad you find this to be awesome Ethel, awwwwwwww thank you! You are a good poet.. though you never call yourself one, you write from the heart,I do the same. Though I'm lax on replying sometimes.. I love your poetry! thank you for replying. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |

"Much like a tamed lion, Still never to be trusted My stride is never caught Stillness leads me To hopes of tears. And I walk" Applauding you wildly. This part here gave me chills. I love how your stride is never caught though :-) |
