~*~

Just a little poem to say
That I love you in every way,
You're the man who fills my heart,
God grant that we should never part.
So pleased am I, for our daughters two,
That their Dad's a man like you,
For us all you do provide
Love, a home, and family pride.
Together may we all grow old
And never feel life's biting cold.

~*~
...from my memory chest and the way things used to be....

Linda, this is very heartfelt and quite beautifully written.

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Linda, this is so romantically sweet. I'm really glad that you shared it with us from your "memory chest". It sounds like a very good memory, too.....

Warmth and love just oozed from your heart when you wrote this dear sister. Magnificent and there is nothing more comforting than to dip into the memory chest from time to time.

Thank you for your "sweet" reply! Instead of more cinnamon hearts, I think I'll send you a big box of Lindor chocolates!--Sweets for the sweet!

Yes, it was very heartfelt when I wrote this poem. Even though our fairy tale life together ended on a very painful note, I have no regrets. I am thankful for the wonderful times we had and for the two beautiful daughters that came from our love.

Valentine hugs,

Ethel ~

My memories can keep me warm on cold nights.
We remain friends and he now tells me that the best thing he ever did was marry me and the worst thing he ever did was leave me...It is so very sad that he discovered this too late and that Erma Bombeck was right all along: "The Grass IS Greener Over the Septic Tank"...

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day dear sweet one!

Marti ~

For many years I enjoyed a wonderful family life. My heart was so full. He always said I was like "Leave It To Beaver's" mom with some Madonna thrown in to spice things up! I suppose that was true.

He was Dr. Jekyll who became Mr. Hyde and has since returned to his former Jekyllian self---but it is now too late. Twice bitten, two thousand times shy. I have worked hard for the life that I now have. I am independent and strong and have carved a new world for myself. I am woman, I am strong, I am invincible!....and I have no regrets. Life is full of lessons and growing pains and any bitterness that I once felt is gone. I am free from the pains of the past and I embrace the present!

May your Valentine's Day be full of romance, love and laughter!

Yes, it can be difficult to go into the memory chest---a nostalgic, and at times bittersweet, trip down memory lane.

I wish this lovely poem hadn't needed that tag line. *S* As beautiful as memories are, they're still in the past... and I wish you a loving present. *S*
