“12TH STREET & VINE”
by
Bill Charles

The other night I went for a walk in the
summer’s night, and ended up at the corner
of 12th Street & Vine…

I remember distinctively when we were
shadows entwined in the moonlight, dancing
to that slow beat of the blues we both love,
hips moving together, lips touching, and
those passionate whispered words…

Silhouettes danced on the walls of the
apartment that night, and
there was something about your
eyes when I gazed into them,
enchanting they were in the dim light,
almost magical, as they drew me
closer to you…

I stayed until early morning knowing you,
and now I’m glad I did, for that
was the beginning…

M’mmmmm yes, I do remember the
the night we spent
together for the first time,
near the corner of
12th Street & Vine…

Bill,  It could have been on any street corner, but...
Thanks for carrying us back there with you!  Nice!

Well, Bill, this poem manages to encapsulate the air of romance. Thanks.

It's amazing I won. I was running against peace, prosperity, & incumbency.

Oh yeah, those moon-lit dances are something else, aren't they?
.
.

This one is very dreamy and romantic....just the kind this "hopeless romantic" likes, friend....Keep writing and we'll keep reading.......
