There is something I must tell you all My sister made me cry last week I was just fine till the first tear kissed my cheek. What had I done to deserve such a shock? How I wished she lived closer, For upon her door I would knock!! But, miles they do part us We don't see enough of each other. Now she has done this, and heartfelt sobs I do smother. She has been more than "big sister" But, my best friend she is too. Without her to count on, I don't know what I'd do. So why would Enchantress make tears fall from Nightshade? She wasn't upset with me - Nor I with her. She sensed what I needed - Oh, that's just so like her!! You see, she sent me a card All about sisterly love With it pressed to my heart I thanked the heaven's above - "Excuse me Lord, your attention I seek." "Thankyou for my dear sister." Oh I understand this one more than you would ever know. My sister is also my best friend....she is running around here somewhere ..."A Tone of Voice". We spend tons of money on phone bills calling one another when we aren't on the computer talking to each other *S*. I love your poem...it really touched my heart. You two are very lucky to have each other ~Salty In the Midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you. |

Chris, I knew when I read the title, that Nancy must have caused you cry in a good way!--and I was right. This was very special. I love my "Baby Stister" (She's five years younger than I am and she will always be that to me in my heart.) We are incredibly close and we love each other dearly. Nightshade, This is so touching. My best friend is my best sister, she being even closer to me than my twin sister was. We could not be closer if we were blood. Our sense of humor, and the knowing what we'll each say, before it is said, and just the tone of voice...is a love shared, just like best sisters. A blessing beyond compare. Now Chris, you made me cry..... But mine are also happy tears for you and Nancy Lee. I knew as soon as I came here that you two had a special bond (or as soon as I read that you two are sisters) I don't have a real sister (or should I say "blood" sister), but, like Pat, I do have three very good friends who are just like sisters to me. I feel that we share just as much as blood sisters would. In fact, one of them is my Gary's step-mother ( now isn't that something.......my future Mother-in-law is one of my very best friends......HaHa!!) Anyway, like Linda said, I knew when I read the title that our sweet friend, Nancy Lee, couldn't have done anything BAD to make you cry. She's just too sweet. I really enjoyed this, Chris. The bond between sisters is a special kind of love. As I read down the page I thought of all four of my sisters and all the Christmas's that have come before. I also got to thinking that I wish I could give my daughter such a gift, but some things are not meant to be and so she has me. She once said, "Mom, if I had a sister I would have to share you with her" that's my girl! This was very sweet and touching.... Now where did I put the kleenex!! |
