From the Flower Shop Diary

He came into the shop, slightly dumpy
and looking at the floor,
then a glance at the plants,
when his eyes went to the orchid
with a spike of lavender attached in rows,
then I saw how his spirit rose.

He thought he wasn’t him of vibrant core, before,
thought he was not good enough for her adore,
not something enough to smile at, for sure,
but I did just then in his direction
and I pretty pleased him to see the flower
wanting bloom was he,
and with a card I watched his eyes reflect
on what to say and how the meaning went,

then he gave it to me with trust he’d found
to say, with love,
no words are more profound

I was just talking about this over at nightshade's poem "Saved"...... and how this group (and some very special people in it) did that very thing for me during the last couple of weeks.

......but you know all about that.....

I like the way you 'pretty pleased' this moment in time.

(smiles) Awwwwwwwwww, this is soooooooo precious, sweet friend, this made me smile as I think a flower shop is never ever complete, but each welcoming smile adds another color and sunlight to the flowers there! (kiss on cheek) Yay, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

those two lines ending it "how it went" are my favorite! They have such a wondrous and ponderous feel to them.

Martie,

I like this so much. The imagery is great. No doubt the love in your spirit can bring forth that in all others, as you do here with your poetry.
