I know, I know... It's really called duct tape, not duck tape. But honestly, I left all my rolls of plastic sheeting and rolls of duct tape behind when I left Alaska. Have you ever covered windows and all openings to the outside with plastic sheeting and duct tape? I did it for six years, and know better than to assume it will keep out an aggressive airstream. It's more likley that it would trap nasty chemicals inside, creating a home made tomb. So I'll pass on the duct tape and buy duck tape instead, to repair a local duck shelter from the predicted fallout. Then I'll keep my fingers crossed, as that method has always saved my ass in the past. [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (02-11-2003 08:05 PM).] |

Is that how you got it in that camel hair bikini? If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

(smiles) That almost makes Satin tape look innocent in nature and Scotch tape taste more like butterscotch, it's hard for me to imagine this kind of dilemma but I only pray all are safe back up north! (big hugggsssssss) This is well thought out, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Listening to the news, I had to flashback on my future as a kid...with duck and cover and inground bomb shelters...the scavengers of doom were the only ones who made money for a concrete hole that wouldn't even hold water...just fear. Then I heard about ducky duct tape and plastic sheets, and installed new windows instead. There won't be any running away from whatever comes, IF it comes. Might as well face it head on, and with eyes wide open. |

LOL at your duct tape ideas Ray. Yes, we all must be resourceful and if we are lucky, we will have a chance to remember this in years to come. Yes, Karilea, when I was little my dad, who built swimming pools, considered the backyard underground shelter option. We didn't want the yard dug up, and talked him into a four day camping vacation at the beach instead. We never regretted it. |
