Once upon a bright sunny day a man named Bill approved a bill to control the 'logging off' of all the old Sequoia's upon our hill. And now King George sees fit to trade off all those trees (for votes, I'm afraid.) I've tried to keep flying above the fray, to fly through treetops to higher realms each day. But now that my wings have been clipped instead, I fear my species endangered, and some day dead. For I am but a tiny California spotted owl, and not the nation's beloved protected eagle. So instead of saving my God given space, you've turned it over to the human race. Some will claim that these forests will be safer from ravaging fires that would consume my habitat. So in typical human fashion and government mindset, my home might be destroyed in order to save it. So what else is new? PS, did you know that I help keep down the rat population? PPS, I'm left wondering if some fat rat sponsored this new legislation? * for the news article that inspired this write: California spotted owl denied protected status http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2003/02/11/MN148500.DTL [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (02-12-2003 12:57 AM).] |

Odd, how they cut a forest and replace it with a tree farm and try to persuade us all is even! Excellent write on a tough issue. ![]() If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Extra hugs to you, Larry, for that reply. I cringe each time I read what we do to nature, 'for nature's sake.' (and if anyone buys that, just tell them I own the Pacific Ocean, and it's up for sale at an affordable price.) |

It's so hard to take sides, when there is so much pro AND con on both sides. Luckily for us, we have conscientious folks like you. Keep us posted, and updated! [This message has been edited by Sunshine (02-11-2003 07:33 PM).] |

Eric, thanks for reading. It frosts me to that this administration constantly moves backwards towards the dark ages in its approach to the environment...not to mention the approach to humanity in general. |

![]() (big hugggsssssssss) They say a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, but when the bush is on fire then I wonder what it is all worth? (sad sigh) In most recent months I have been quite disappointed with Bush and outside of Passions have written many poems criticizing him, I only pray it's not too late for them to hang in there, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

yea, sure, like the noble hunters out in NJ ,the deerkillers, that do it from the goodness of their hearts, to thin the herd, so the deer wont starve. |
