I think I'll lick your blood today,
I'm thirsty from my cause.
I rant and rave romantically,
just waiting for applause.

Though, I don't know what psycho means,
how it feels to live unfree,
I'll watch my brother's bravery,
and moralize on bended knees.

I marvel how well brother crawls,
with my knife thrust in his back,
as I spit upon his grave,
I'm a coward, and that is that!

You didn't protest, you naughty boy,
and this is what you get,
if all of us would have just said no,
your body wouldn't be lit.

Too bad for you, prolonging life,
of America, you'll die there,
it's going to happen anyway,
dictatorship, but, I'll be here.

I will live at your kid's expense,
New Country, is it hell,
to worship unholy demons,
no need now, to cast a spell?

I am a coward, yes, that's true,
rather give a hug and kiss.
I was blessed to be born right here,
You know ~God~ owes me this.

He's nothing to do with America,
we shed blood, of our own creed,
we keep the nigger ever near
for democratically, he's free.

The nigger, not the *black man,
*his suffering still goes on,
I mean the white ones, those
who give me their applause.

For, I am free to say anything,
lick your wounds of war grease,
perhaps the day will come,
of freedom's lust, world peace.

I don't believe the bible mysteries,
sources where spirits soar,
nor, consider that it could be,
our God, who ordered war.

Isn't God like a generic corn flake,
as common as yellow and black
He's everyone's God, isn't He,
and, we don't need to pay Him back?

Love the analogy.  'He's everyone's God, isn't He'...Amen.

Duncan,

Sadly, He is everyone's God, just not everyone chooses Him to be their God.
There are other ~gods~.....I don't want to be ~forced~ to worship one....
as America does not force others to do so, nor, do I want to live without freedoms we clearly have, as horrific as our political system might be, we are ~still~ a free society....gained on a red platter, not a silver one.

Thank you for commenting. Pat

Since when is a hug and a kiss the gesture of cowardice?

Perhaps maybe when people use going to war to ~defend~ our country as a platform for very ligitimate other factors of protest. When others have to pay such a high price for freedom we enjoy, the only kiss is a bloody one....the only hug, bone crushing, and insulting to those who fought before....and are now stationed over there, waiting to be suffocated....

I, for one, will continue to kiss and hug anyone on this planet who needs one, no matter what their political or religious leanings. I've seen enough killing to understand more killing isn't the solution.

Namaste. Peace.

Too bad that you don't have a mind of your own and that you are so phlegmatic and never express your own point of view...

NOT !!! Gosh! You almost blew me over with your powerful imagery, for example--God being a cornflake! tehe!!! Golly Miss Molly--I've never heard that one before! From now on I am going to have a difficult time trying not to break out giggling when I say my prayers!

Hugs to you my friend!
Linda

Kacy,

You are certainly welcome to your opinion and glad you took the time to state it.

It is my opinion, killing is not the solution if you don't want to live in a free country.

You are right.

But I cannot ignore how we became America for I would be blatantly disrespectful to the hundreds of thousands, (?) we've lost. This poem is about God, for the most part. He is the one I worship the most hung on a bloody cross and died for my freedom... so perhaps, one day, we'll only know this freedom in our hearts when those of us left, will know only communist rule, or worse....  I hope they at least will have knowledge of what was in the bible, for there will be no bibles or other sources from which to learn.

Thank you for reading and replying,

Hugs to your pure heart. I do understand how you feel. I wish it could be so.... Pat

Linda,

As long as we pray, huh? He loves laughter of His children and He'd be the first to wish ~He~ were as common as a generic corn flake. If only...He were honored by all humanity...we would never have these ~killing~ problems.

I've read one too many protest poems lately. This is the result.

I am not politically active, because I'd be in jail all the time. Especially were it for other issues on the platform of civil rights of all kinds...

I understand everyone's point of view, just don't particularly like the United States of America, nor our president put down during this dramatic fight for freedom. And, I believe it is just that....tho. the news media does blab a lot of details they should not, there are still details we don't know. And, trust, we must...and, I don't like it either!!
Scary as hell.

Hugs and love,  Pat

Pat,
you've got the guts I don't have! I like your whole stand on this. Can't say I pay close attention to whats going on via news and war, But I know, though its devistating, that the peace signs aren't gonna hold up for bomb shelter and they sure aren't gonna defend our nation.
And sadly I think God is as common as a cornflake... well His name anyway, just vainly.
I'm a warrior, of sorts, for my Savior. And I know he is the Saviour of this land too. I salute those defnding us, standing for us...may we be under God, united.
Hugs

Always, Alyssa

Alyssa,

I cannot say I am proud of this poem.
I was going to throw it away, for had written couple days ago. Then, this AM I read another poem and comments by the poet regarding it and that our president is a dictator, among other things....so here is my posting. From anger....am surprised anyone answered it. In a couple places my poem contradicts itself almost, is not totally clear, and I am not usually a name-caller...I am not backing down from it...I don't particularly like it. I do believe the world order of all has everything to do with God.
I do believe there is a huge lack of respect and honor of Him....Maybe I am mistaken, but I did not think Jesus came here (born) for peace....that is just in Christmas songs...anyway, thank you for answering...

Hugs and love, Pat

for some reason I was not notified by e-mail of your reply so I need to go figure out why. I was for all the others.  Just got on-line...since this AM....
