From the darkness he does creep, In shadows And in the grimes where t’was sleep, Moving in slow painful way, In shadows. Avoiding the light of day. In the dankness where he came The sorrows Where day and night is the same Those that dwell in this grim place Of sorrow Paste no smile upon their face Transitions In through a dark shattered glass, Wearing rags To a darkness were to pass, Rags and time in sleep and pain, Changing rags, Higher status to obtain. Out of a grimy doorway, Dirty clothes, The afternoon sun at play, Just a lurker passing through, Dirty clothes, And t’is no notice of you Transitions Dirty rags becomes cloth clean Over worn A better day they have seen Not pressed but lacking the rips Over worn Through the deep shadows he slips Beside you unnoticed there Look away It’s not polite if you stare Move along without a word On your way Nothing said is nothing heard. Transitions A cheep hotel hookers dwell, Changing clothes, And Joes in their little hell, Another one in and out, Changing clothes, One more no one care about. It’s a place of old biz-ness No one looks And so there’s never witness Who cares there what he will do No one looks If it’s one per room or two Transition Leaving as the others do, Just a suit, Caring not about the who Just another in the crowd, Just a suit, A quiet amongst the loud. Hail a cab to now carry Move along Acting as if in hurry With places to go and do Move along Invisible in plain view. Transitions. Did you see him passing by? Did he chance to catch your eye? Did you notice anything? Could you remember something; Are you conditioned too well To see others where you dwell Pick the strangers out near by, Or do you let him pass by Is he ragman or worker Just a suit or berserker. What is here within our midst Land of friends or terrorist Are you cold of emotions Not seeing the transitions, And what of the other man An old hero of the land Watching shadows you don’t see And goes where he wants to be. War molded shaped discarded From society parted, Faded away did not flee Who knows now what he will be. Gloom |

It's said the meek will inherit the earth.....can't see it happening unless we're all made meek. Enjoyed |

I try to not look away when I see someone in need or less fortunate...I just don't like the ones who use it as a ploy sometimes in the downtown areas to get money to drink or smoke...so I often offer food... *s M |

![]() (big hugggsssssss) Oh Aszard, this is so very true, and somehow the meek could be strong, it takes confidence and soul to be the best you can be and I admire those who rise from the bottom with might! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Aszard, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Do not gaze upon the ground where I have tread. Instead, look forward to where my heart does head. |
