I Talk to the Woods Denuded
(in memory of Michelle)

I talk to the woods denuded
not pine or cone just black stark trunks illusion
grants me foot within
the wandering of my spirit
to see small grasses mostly weed though sweet
and tufts of rocks that fall into the clearing
like a memorial of what used to be
to cover the char that once was tree

I picture the woman she would be
on curve of time this road I take
to bring her sharper to my senses
with long brown hair by sun made to flame
and eyes the color of a wooded glen
stem brown skin and toes mostly open
from barefooted time that she would spend

I remember her love for wild and free
the sound of coyote almost cock of head
to hear from back yard pass the curl of scent
that travels bent within the nape of years
from someplace beyond this single web
she was open this way in her life as now when dead

and that is why this trail is not of sorrow
but hallow in the path it takes to certain sure
to find the lifting up of missing her is born
from a life never forsaken always worn and mostly now
the month when she stopped and winter became real
I feel her keen within continuations cycle
for every breath I lift she love adorns

It is good that you can think of Michelle not in saddness as much
as picturing her grown and in tune with nature...
..........set free.
~Love, hugs, and understanding this month even more, Nancy~

Michelle would be very proud of her mom, as I am of having her mom as my dear friend.

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn

Your words glaze my eyes with visions of what you are seeing. Another magnificent poem from the heart of a mother. You are quite exceptional in your writing and in spirit, both so beautiful
Thank you for this wonderful poem

I have said before--She is your pens most amazing and inspiring muse...from the memories, from your love, from the healing that only time can bring and from the touch of her traces left behind you turn the words into poetic gold...into versed tributes that engrave her magic in time...and on all our hearts. The depth of this poem and its beauty
takes my breath away and leaves me with a lump in my throat and a smile at your grace on me mothy face.

Sending angel hugs to your beloved Michelle--and to her very special mother. Energy may change, but never can it be destroyed...she is still with you. Some day your energy will change as well and you will be reunited in a different reality. God bless you both.

Loving hugs,
Linda

Each time I read of your Michelle, the woods fill with the sounds of songbirds and the scent of sweet nectar fills the air.
Through you, she is still there, smiling at the beauty, the love of life.

I saw this in the morning, had to wait until afternoon to read it. Just couldn't read it then.

Should maybe have waited a little longer, like until there was no one else around. Life is hard, and we, so soft....
